On Point Technology salutes state workforce agencies on 70th anniversary of UI program

September 6, 2005

The On Point Technology team is excited to salute the staffs of the 53 state workforce agencies on the 70th anniversary of the Unemployment Insurance Program. Signed into law on August 14, 1935, the Social Security Act of 1935 established the framework of the UI system. On Point Technology joins all Americans in thanking our friends, colleagues and clients at the agencies for a job well done over these many years.

Wouldn't it be interesting to see their reactions if claimants from those early years could witness the program as it operates today, supported by the latest technology? Unemployment insurance has been a vital force in good times and bad, providing a lifeline of support to individual laid-off workers, assisting employers to preserve and stabilize their workforce and pumping money into the economy in times of downturns.

Congratulations, and thanks for all you have done. We are pleased to have been a part of this program since our own founding in 1996, and look forward to continuing our long and mutually beneficial relationship.
