Aware, Barts receive rave reviews at UWC

May 2, 2005

On Point Technology exhibited at the 24th Annual National UI Issues Conference, held by UWC - Strategic Services on Unemployment and Workers' Compensation. On Point Technology was the only vendor serving state workforce agencies to sponsor the conference, which took place April 18–20 in Nashville, TN. Representatives Ron Burkhart, Michael Lorsbach and Bob Yokavonus demonstrated Aware and Barts to a crowd of both government officials and agents from private sector companies.

The products received rave reviews, and there was much encouragement to continue developing workers' compensation and unemployment insurance tax audits in Aware. Attendees from several state workforce agencies expressed an interest in scheduling on-site presentations with On Point Technology in the near future. There were also conference participants from outside the unemployment insurance industry who saw the demos and remarked on the products' potential applications in other fields, such as law enforcement. Conference sessions and workshops explored the major unemployment insurance issues that employers face on a daily basis. One of the conference presenters was Kathy Moore, Chief Investigator for the Washington State Employment Security Department (WSESD), with whom On Point Technology is currently working to implement Aware in Washington. In her seminar on fraud and overpayment, Moore announced that for every administrative dollar spent, WSESD prevents and detects $22.28 of fraud with the help of Barts' fraud detection tools.

Highlights from the conference also included a luncheon with baseball legend, six-time All Star, Cy Young and MVP award winner Vida Blue as the guest speaker, and a reception featuring master guitarist Bobby Cochran.
